The reason is the three black squares. This area of a QR code is the 'Data Zone'. Your account number and other info are encoded here. The three squares are 'Position Markers'. Two above and one below. With the help of these position markers QR images scanned from any angle are rightly positioned by the phone's AI and reads the data.
