Volkswagon / Hitler's Car.

Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, Porsche, Ducati, Skoda, Seat. All these brands are owned by one company. Volkswagen. But, the past of this company is too controversial. In the 1930s, in Germany, a car was a luxury. But Adolf Hitler wanted every German to own a car. Based on his orders, Nazi Labour Force started a company, Volkswagen, which means People's car in Germany. The design was to be made by Ferdinand Porsche. It was a combination of political will and technical skill which was very necessary to execute such a large-scale project. In 1938, the company launched its first car, Beetles, which we see in a lot of Hollywood movies. In 1945, after the second world war, mass production of this car started. It was the highest-selling car in the world in the 20th century with over 2 crore Beetles sold. Today, Volkswagen is the 2nd largest car manufacturer in the world. Every 10 cars that are sold in the world, 1 car is manufactured by this company.
